United States Postal Service Careers

Description

For more than 235 years, the United States Postal Service (USPS) has been one of the nation’s largest employers of Veterans, second only to the Department of Defense.

In fact, we currently have nearly 120-thousand employees — 21 percent of our workforce — who have worn their military and postal uniforms with pride. Last year, we were proud to have more than 530 of our employees on military leave, actively serving our nation. That commitment continues right into 2012.

Our employees have served with distinction in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and other remote posts throughout the world.

America’s armed forces and the Postal Service have a lot in common – both have been woven into American history from the nation’s earliest days. And both serve the American people, albeit in different ways.

With the help of our Veterans and other dedicated employees, the Postal Service continues to bind our nation — and our nation’s military — together through the mail.

We at the Postal Service deeply appreciate the men and women, many of whom are our co-workers, who have volunteered to serve as members of the Army, the Air Force, the Navy, the Marines, the Coast Guard, the National Guard, and the Reserves.
