The Massachusetts Division of Professional Licensure (DPL) oversees 31 licensing boards that license more than 365,000 individuals and businesses in a wide range of professions and trades, including electricians, plumbers, engineers, architects, and allied health professionals.  DPL is a regulatory agency within the Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation.  The agency is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and the integrity of the licensing process for its boards.

There are licenses overseen by other state agencies not under DPL.  Professions such as EMTs, Paramedics, Nurses, Dentists, Dental Hygienists and Dental Assistants, Pharmacists, Respiratory Therapists, Genetic Counselors, Community Health Workers, Teachers, Early Childcare Workers, Public Safety Professions, and more – all have their own military friendly regulations to make it easier for those who apply for licenses.
